I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona and a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner in Nebraska, with nearly two decades of experience in the mental health field. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a focus in forensics and neuropsychology, and hold five master’s degrees spanning community counseling, clinical psychology, psychopharmacology, industrial-organizational psychology, and international psychology. I also completed postdoctoral training in psychopharmacology to advance standards of care in states that allow prescriptive authority.
Since 2007, I have served individuals across the lifespan in diverse and challenging settings—including prisons, behavioral health residential facilities, eating disorder programs, mental health institutes, family courts in Arizona, and civil commitment programs for sex offenders. I have also held leadership positions, including directing facilities that specialize in substance abuse recovery and the treatment of severe mental health disorders. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and recognized as a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Professional.
My Approach
My clinical work is rooted in psychoanalytic theory, while integrating evidence-based and client-centered modalities. I draw on cognitive-behavioral approaches (CBT), including rational emotive methods, and behavioral strategies tailored to each client’s needs. Central to my practice is logotherapy—helping individuals find meaning in their suffering and empowering them to shape their own lives with purpose and resilience.
Whether working with preschool children, adults struggling with trauma, couples or individuals serving life sentences, I emphasize dignity, self-determination, and the capacity for growth. I strive to create a safe, structured, and collaborative space for healing. Available Tuesday-Wednesday 9am to 7pm & Saturdays 9am to 3pm. Accept all major commercial Insurances. Self pay is $125 an hour for individual and $135 for couples.
Personal Background
Beyond my professional life, I am a single father raising two sons full time, with a third son who lives outside the home. My journey as a parent deeply informs the empathy and perspective I bring to family-related issues. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing and spending time outdoors, and my family and I share a love for exploration—including participating in The Secret treasure hunt.
Looking Ahead
I have completed both my postdoctoral placement and advanced master’s work in psychopharmacology and am currently preparing for the EPPP examination to achieve full licensure as a psychologist in both Arizona and Nebraska.
